Client Cancellation Policy

At MyGiglists, we understand that plans can change. Life happens, dates shift, and events sometimes need to be rearranged. Our cancellation policy is designed to protect both our clients/employers and our verified musicians, ensuring fairness, transparency, and a seamless experience for everyone involved.

This policy applies to all bookings made through the MyGiglists platform.

General Cancellation Rules

  • All cancellations must be made directly through your MyGiglists account or by contacting our support team.
  • Cancellation fees are calculated based on how close the cancellation is to the event date.
  • Refunds (where applicable) are returned to the original payment method.

Cancellation Timeframes & Refunds

  • Cancellation Within 24 Hours of Booking
    • We offer a 24-hour grace period for all new bookings.
    • 100% refund if cancelled within 24 hours, provided the event date is more than 14 days away.
    • If the event is less than 14 days away, the standard cancellation policy applies.
  • Cancellation 15 Days or More Before the Event
    • Full refund of the booking fee, minus a 10% administrative fee.
    • This fee covers verification, communication, and musician reservation time.
  • Cancellation 8–14 Days Before the Event
    • 50% refund of the total booking amount.
    • This reflects the likelihood that the musician may not secure another engagement within this short window.
  • Cancellation 7 Days or Less Before the Event
    • No refund.
    • At this point, the musician has committed their date, declined other bookings, and may have made necessary preparations for your event.

Last-Minute Changes

  • If you need to change event details (venue, time, duration, or performance expectations), MyGiglists will do our best to accommodate:
  • If the assigned musician accepts the changes, the booking continues smoothly.
  • If the musician cannot accept the change, the situation will be treated as a cancellation and standard cancellation fees apply.

Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)

  • We understand that emergencies happen. If the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond your control—such as severe illness, government restrictions, natural disasters, or security situations—MyGiglists will:
    • Review the case individually,
    • Request reasonable evidence if needed,
    • Work toward a fair and compassionate resolution, which may include partial or full refunds depending on the situation.

Musician-Initiated Cancellations

In the rare case that a musician cancels:

  • Clients/employers receive a full refund.
  • MyGiglists will assist in securing a replacement musician at no extra cost.
  • Priority support is provided to minimize disruption to your event.

No-Show by the Client/Employer

  • If the client/employer or event organizer fails to provide access, communication, or necessary conditions for the musician to perform:
  • It will be treated as a client/employer cancellation with no refund.

Refund Processing Time

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. Timing may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
